|Clay in Mosaics: Tile & Elements Workshop|

In this 3-day workshop, taught by award winning artist and CMS Founder Karen Ami, students will be inspired to create unique clay forms and surfaces with hand-formed tiles and elements that can be incorporated into the mosaic process. Examples of the tile making techniques will be demonstrated and students will have the opportunity to experiment with different textural and detailing methods. Basic glazing, firing techniques and an elemental discussion of adhesives and substrates for mosaic applications will be covered. Students will receive handouts and are expected to bring a sketchbook and notebook to each class session. Materials and use of tools provided.
