Beyond the Swirl: Mosaic Design & Creativity with Sharra Frank
Session 5: Thursday, April 25, 2019, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Price: $315 (Includes $20 Materials Fee)
The goal of this workshop is to empower and flood students with productive inspiration while demystifying the elements and principles of art & design. We will learn that when used intentionally, these powerful design concepts can push a mosaic to the next level. This workshop will spark creativity and motivate students to practice and apply their new found skills in any artistic endeavor.
Students will become familiar with design language, which also aids in developing a personal style and visual voice. Renewed creative confidence and energy is also to be expected!
Through an overview of the elements and principles of art & design, students will gain a deeper understanding of what gives a mosaic the “Wow Factor”. We will also learn how to best utilize the key design components that we are drawn to in our own work. Tuning into this will awaken and excite our artistic ideas and our passion to create.
Students will also experience a variety of engaging ways to develop, record and stockpile design ideas for future projects, that they can come back to time and time again. If time allows, there will be Q&A and sharing of student work.
Students are asked to bring a vision board with a collection of colors, textures, images, and anything that inspires them. This needs to be an actual physical board vs digital. Sharra will be in touch with more vision board instruction prior to class.
Students will also be asked to bring an 8” x 10” or larger sketchbook, colored pencils, magazine papers, clippings, paints, stencils, tracing paper, scissors, rulers and any other personal art supplies or scrapbooking materials they might like to use.
