SAMA VIRTUAL OPERATIONS ASSISTANT (temporary position)
This temporary part-time contract position is for a Virtual Operations Assistant (VOA), serving SAMA’s Executive Director and Conference Program team. The contract will begin immediately upon appointment and extend through April 30, 2015 with possibility for extension or renewal. The VOA will work remotely, using their own computer, telephone, and fast, reliable Internet connection. Fax machine a plus but not required.
Ideal candidate loves working with, around and in support of artists or anyone who is committed to their passion. We seek individuals with excellent communication and computer skills with an availability of 30 hours per week. Our VOA must be able to execute phone calls with members and conference participants in quiet environment. Ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating projects with volunteers and experience working within a non-profit arts or community organization. The VOA will be required to attend the SAMA Conference March 11-14, 2015. The VOA will be provided travel, meals & housing at headquarter hotel during conference period.
We require excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Powerpoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro. Proficiency in WordPress, as well as web based bulk email services, such as Vertical Response or Constant Contact will be beneficial. Proficiency in basic bookkeeping and data entry tasks and familiarity with Quickbooks, also will be of benefit. Familiarity with Web Conferencing, such as GotoMeeting, WebEx, or Google Hangout, is essential, as video web-conferencing will be occur frequently when working with SAMA Volunteers and Staff. Familiarity with Cloud Storage utilities, like Dropbox, Google Drive, and Evernote, as well as familiarity with Social Media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn extremely beneficial.
Potential tasks to include
- lite bookkeeping and data entry
- member communications and servicing of frequently asked questions via email and phone
- execution of registration materials preparation: create name badges, rosters for instructors, reports from registration software data
- sending email blasts and announcements, updating Social Media platforms,
- conference registration and operational administrative support during conference.
- keeping SAMA’s Executive Director from “losing her marbles”.
Contract will begin immediately for up to 30 hours per week at $15.00 per hour through April 30, 2015.
