“Aromas del Campo”, 2019, 6″ x 6″, smalti, stained glass, fused glass, ceramic, beach rocks, wood sticks, wire
“Inspired by the aroma and warm feeling of cooking in a big metal pot a few dozens of freshly made “pasteles” on some burning wood fire, that we call “leña”. Reminds me of my ancestors and the simple living of an era in PR, were it was tradition to prepare them together with friends and family while listening to music, chatting (in person) and enjoying life and each others company. Best if surrounded by the beautiful nature in the mountainous countryside (campo) of our precious island.
Let’s reconnect..I’ll tie…
(Pasteles: a puertorrican cherished culinary recipe, made by families especially around Christmas-time)”
