Black is Beautiful by Barbara Bussler
Black pumpkins anyone? I love to experiment with non-traditional colors when it comes to my mosaic pumpkins, so check out this beautiful large BLACK one. Mixing lots of different materials is my most favorite kind of mosaics. I am constantly acquiring materials, and when they are spread out on my work table I’m striving to find the most interesting combinations without overwhelming the final piece. This pumpkin is a good example of such a mix-material approach. The reflections created with the different kinds of glass are just beautiful. The materials for this one are as follows: a variety of glass and ceramic black tiles, porcelain, artificial pearls, glass pebbles, dichroic glass, then again finished with black grout. The stem is a real dried pumpkin stem painted in black. The size of it is 7 inches wide x 9 inches high including stem. Inside is a solid plastic pumpkin and the grout is professional tile grout.
Materials: mixed tiles, black grout, real painted pumpkin, plastic interior
