Fall 2024 Gathering – *******!
We are VERY CLOSE to announcing our 2024 Conference Location and dates for this Fall. We appreciate everyone ‘s patience as we work through details and navigate the latest pivot in SAMA programming!
This year, SGAA & SAMA are thrilled to announce two separate in-person gatherings, each in a different city and over two separate weekends. While distinct, these events are united in celebrating our ongoing partnership and contribute to our traveling exhibition programs. We look forward to another dual conference program in 2025. Here’s to continued success and collaboration!

One of SAMA’s most impactful programs for members is returning for its fifth season in 2024 with several exciting updates!
The result of our first four seasons of the One Hundred Moments in Mosaic Project was an amazing, non-juried collection of work representing the full spectrum of SAMA’s diverse membership. The work of seasoned professionals displayed alongside enthusiastic newcomers to the mosaic making process, culminated in over 100 moments of life rendered in mosaic by artists from all over the world. Viewers in Chicago, Boston, Nashville and Orlando were enthralled with the diversity and creativity of our passionate Members!
We are inviting SAMA and SGAA Members to make a 6” x 6” work in 2D mosaic, fused or soldered glass panel. You may select either a Mosaic Kit to include: one 6″ x 6″ EZframe and hanging hardware, or a Glass Panel Kit to include: pre-cut zinc framing and hanging hardware for a 6” x 6” soldered square. We are not limiting the number of participants but will restrict one panel per artist per display. Participation is exclusive to all active SAMA & SGAA Members.
The project will also be presented in an Online Gallery featuring each work and will include an opportunity for artists to sell their work directly from the SAMA website.
Registration is Open NOW for all 2024 events and online gallery placement. Registration will remain open through Fall for those that would like to join the project later this Summer.
Mosaic & Glass Magazine, Issue 7
A new partnership for SAMA & Mosaic & Glass magazine
We’re excited to announce a new partnership between the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) and Mosaic & Glass magazine! From Issue 8 onwards, members of SAMA will start to receive a printed and digital copy of Mosaic & Glass magazine as part of their membership benefits along with an exclusive discount on back issues of the magazine.
SAMA is entering exciting times! After pausing member programs to establish new focus and foster strategic partnerships to strengthen resources, SAMA is committed to a new era of educating, inspiring and promoting excellence in mosaic arts. Our continued partnership with the Stained Glass Association of America and several regional member groups will send SAMA on the road in 2024 bringing back in-person events and exhibitions and creating new opportunities for members to connect and share their work!
Launched in 2022, Mosaic & Glass is an international magazine that passionately champions the medium of mosaic. It also celebrates the world of glass through one long read in each issue. The next issue (8) will be published in June, when the magazine publication schedule will change to annual and each issue will increase in size. The magazine contains thoughtful and professional writing that’s designed to educate, inspire and delight readers. It includes features and interviews about contemporary and ancient mosaics, plus tutorials and technical tips directly from creators.
We’re delighted to be collaborating in this way to champion the wonderful medium of mosaic that we all love so much! We hope you join us.
