MOSAIC ART SALON 2021 SUBMISSION FORM
Please read carefully:
If you are registered for the Virtual American Mosaic Summit, one Mosaic Art Salon submission is allowed as part of the Conference Registration Fee. If you want to submit more than one artwork you will need to agree to a 30% donation of the purchase price to SAMA. Due to time constraints of uploading listings we can only create up to two (2) listings per artist. Artist may submit up to five images per listing. Not For Sale artwork will not be featured this year as eBay does not support that option.
The Mosaic Art Salon 2021 Ebay Silent Auction will be live for the three days of the conference ending at 7:45pm on Sunday, February 7, 2021. A link will be provided on our website, in the Virtual Conference Hub and shared on social media. We encourage you to share your listing when it becomes available as ANYONE will be able to purchase artwork in the auction.
We will generate shipping labels for you through eBay’s shipping label creation system and email them to you as a printable PDF by Monday 2/8/2021. You will have five days from the end of the auction to ship your artwork to the buyer by end of business Friday 2/13/2021.
Artist is responsible for sales tax, SAMA is not collecting sales tax.
All artwork and information must be submitted by Monday, February 2, 2021.
No guarantees artwork will be uploaded to eBay after that date.
Before you complete this form please think through your listing carefully. We will be using eBay for the auction so your description, pricing, images, and the size of the box you will need to use to ship your artwork to the purchaser will be required in this form. Buyers will be responsible for shipping costs.
SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING SHIPPING
We suggest you offer a smaller sized mosaic for sale as it will be cumbersome to mail. Smaller things are easier to package and cost less money to send which your buyers will appreciate! In preparing your shipping information, make sure you have a container designated in advance. DO NOT use Styrofoam peanuts or shredded paper as packing material. We have experienced that this material is insufficient to support and cushion mosaic work adequately. We also recommend that work that is wrapped in bubble wrap, have a layer of butcher paper or thin foam wrap between the bubble wrap and the mosaic. Tightly wrapped, ungrouted works, particularly of smalti or other sharp-edged tesserae can loosen tesserae during the unwrapping process. Bubble wrap grabs on to the sharp edges and can pull tesserae from the substrate during shipping and during uncrating.
