Mission and 2024 Highlights
As we embark on 2025, the mosaic arts community faces both challenges and exciting opportunities. Our hearts go out to those impacted by the recent devastating natural disasters. SAMA stands in solidarity with these communities, and we encourage those who can to support relief efforts through the links provided on our website, americanmosaics.org. If you’ve been affected, please reach out to SAMA so we can connect you with available resources.
SAMA’s mission remains steadfast: to educate, inspire, and promote excellence in mosaic arts. We achieve this through dynamic conferences, enriching workshops, and prestigious exhibitions that showcase the evolution of this captivating medium.
Reflecting on 2024, the American Mosaic Summit: Artist Immersion in Greater Detroit proved a resounding success. Attendees connected with fellow artists, explored inspiring works, engaged in thought-provoking presentations and the Mosaic Marathon, experienced the Mosaic Art Salon, and discovered unique materials from our vendors.
The 2024 Mosaic Arts International, Mosaic Arts Invitational, and 100+ Moments Project, hosted by the Janice Charach Gallery and later the Belger Crane Yard Gallery, demonstrated the breadth and depth of contemporary mosaic art.

SAMA’s 25th anniversary
This year marks a momentous occasion: SAMA’s 25th Anniversary! We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone in Orlando, FL, under the guidance of our Host Committee Chair, Cherie Bosela.
The Mosaic Arts International 2025 will be showcased at the esteemed Albin Polasek Museum in Winter Park, FL, August 26 – December 7, 2025. The 100 Moments in Mosaic project will also travel to Orlando and additional locations through the end of the year while also presented in its own online gallery. We are delighted to partner with Mosaic and Glass Magazine to present these exhibitions, and we invite all artists to join SAMA and submit their work.
Join us in Orlando, FL, October 30 – November 1, 2025 for a celebration of mosaic art’s vibrant past, present, and future. Connect with leading artists, collectors, and curators. Explore the latest innovations in materials and techniques. Be inspired by the diverse expressions of contemporary mosaic art.
Full details regarding the conference, exhibitions, hotel accommodations, and submission guidelines are available on our website: americanmosaics.org/conference.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
My Mosaic Art Journey would not be possible without SAMA
Meaningful collaboration fuels artistic growth. Personally, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with fellow mosaic artists like Randie Levine and Susan Goldberg on large-scale projects, expanding my own artistic horizons.
My involvement with the M4 Collective (Jenny Perry, Julie Dilling, and Shug Jones) has opened doors to exciting exhibitions, including our show at the Amy Keever Gallery in Bentonville, AR. A transformative residency at the Olive Stack Gallery in Ireland with Julie Dilling further underscores the power of shared artistic experiences.
SAMA has been instrumental in these journeys, connecting me with fellow artists and opportunities I could never have imagined. From crafting a simple trivet 25 years ago to pursuing mosaic art as a serious artistic medium, my trajectory reflects the growth of the mosaic arts field itself.
Over the next several days, we will share how SAMA has shaped the mosaic art life of our dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees and encourage you to share your journey with us at info@americanmosaics.org for a future post on our website blog, Andamento.
Sincerely,
Jacki Gran, SAMA President
