Next up in our series of stories from SAMA Members, Volunteers, and Board of Trustees, we have SAMA Advisory Board Member (former SAMA President), Libby Hintz reflecting on her personal mosaic journey through SAMA.

When I joined SAMA 15 years ago the goal was to “feather my own nest” as all my children were leaving our nest, I knew I needed something to focus on so I wouldn’t be all up in my kids’ business! What a gift it was that I found SAMA. I’ve been able to meet so many people that I can learn from. Making art can be a lonely proposition and having the people of SAMA in my life has supported me to keep going and to keep learning.

The opportunity to participate in exhibitions such as Mosaic Arts International (MAI) and 100 Moments in Mosaic is a motivating force in my life to continue to grow in my art. If you haven’t been a member for some time, I encourage you to look at all that SAMA is doing to promote, educate and inspire the art of mosaic. We welcome you back!
