Transforming Spaces With Large-Scale Mosaics with Elena Townsend-Efimova

Through examples of indoor and outdoor large-scale mosaic installations, Elena will explore how art transforms the spaces where we live and work, and how beautiful spaces transform and inspire the human being.
Elena Townsend-Efimova received her MA in Architecture and Education in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Since 1993, Elena has resided in Ann Arbor, MI., where she works as an artist and teacher. Elena works in a variety of media and has been making mosaic art for 25 years. Her art is regularly displayed at Galleries, Art Fairs, Exhibitions, and Public Spaces. She has been a Presenter at the NAEA National and State Conventions. In 2022, Elena published a book on teaching art, and she has 45 years of teaching experience. She leads students and community groups to create large-scale mosaic installations. With her background in Architecture, Elena is passionate about how art transforms the spaces where we live and work, and how beautiful spaces transform and inspire the human being.
