Do you have interesting two- and three-dimensional materials that would look great in a mosaic, but they are also too intricate to withstand grouting? In this class, you learn to use the TAPESTRY mosaic technique to create a basic but beautiful wall hanging. You will learn how to prepare the substrate, how to create a pattern from your materials, how to embed your items into prepared mortar, and how to finish the piece. This class is primarily for intermediate students or for any mosaic artist that wants to try a new technique. Includes use of tools, small substrate, and adhesives. Students will receive email from instructor in the week before class on what they need to bring. ADVANCED USERS - I provided more advanced tasks for returning students. Also, special substrates available for purchase. Two sessions; total class time 5 hours. | |
