John Sollinger (Solly)
Rendering Real Randomly in Double Reverse
D&L Glass Supply
June 10-12, 2020
Join Solly in this 3-day workshop where you will be expected to step outside your comfort zone by exploring Solly’s ways of working, from choosing images to laying glass pieces, before employing his signature double reverse technique. Time will be set aside during lunch or other breaks to discuss ways of achieving a high degree of realism. Such discussions will occur one-on-one or small groups. If possible, come prepared to share what you know about how other artists, mosaicists in particular, render realistically. Solly will review his mosaics from the last 10 years. Students will make a 12 x 12 stained glass-on-glass mosaic wall-hanging suitable for indoors. There will be a choice of three images to render into a mosaic. Non-beginners are encouraged to bring their own photos of size no larger than 9.25 inches in either direction.
SAMA members who are enrolled at the Professional, Corporate, or Patron levels who wish to list their classes here can enter information in the Member Portal, “Website Forms” page.
