Step away from your busy lives and join Solly on this 5-day workshop in an 8-day retreat in Mia’s La Volpaia home and studio in enchanting Chanti, Italy. Leave your excuses, creative blocks and distractions at home. Let Solly shake your notion of mosaicking. Learn new tips and processes for seeing and making mosaics that will compliment or replace your approach to mosaicking. Take creative risks. Loosen up and play with tess sizes, shapes and andamento before committing with adhesive. Solly will teach his fluid double reverse method, where the mosaic is directly assembled and flipped without adhesive before sticking it to a substrate. Solly will share tips for creating optical illusions of space and reality, focusing on value contrasts, lights and shadows. At this retreat you will find your own balance between time alone and community feedback. In a 5-day workshop for mosaic intermediates and professionals, you will have time to focus on finishing your mosaic without overworking.
