My SAMA Story
Next up in our series of stories from SAMA Members, Volunteers and Board of Trustees we have SAMA BOT Member, Joan Schwartz who shares her story of artistic growth through community.

20 years ago, I was introduced to SAMA (Society of American Mosaic Artists). This was life-changing for me at a time I needed to explore some new, unfamiliar territory to improve my craft in mosaics.
During the years I have worked in many forms of art, but this organization has changed my life forever. I have taken invaluable classes from the most renowned instructors throughout the world, which have improved my craft and have given me the confidence to apply to exhibitions I never would have dreamed of entering.
I have begun teaching, and I’m in the process of developing my second video for Mosaic Arts Online.
This family (SAMA) of amazingly crafted mosaic people has become my family of choice. Through the years, I have made lifelong friends and traveled to places around the world that I would have never imagined visiting.
This being the 25th anniversary of SAMA, it is a perfect time for you to join us and experience all the wonderful opportunities this fabulous organization has to offer.
I promise you won’t be disappointed!
