this session repeats
Session 5a: Thursday, September 20, 2024, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Session 5b: Friday, September 21, 2024, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Workshop: Hands-On
Advanced Intermediate: Technical Development
Price: $385  (Includes $50 Materials Fee)

In this intensive 8-hour workshop, students will learn through detailed instruction how to cut materials using the hammer and Hardie. Using materials such as Natural Stone, and Smalti, students will gain skills to cut more quickly with a minimal amount of waste. Students examine specific characteristics of materials such as the hardness or structure of the stone and Smalti and how to reduce the size of natural materials. Students also learn about proper maintenance, sharpening, and care of the hammer and Hardie tools. This class is intended for all levels, from the beginning to those who may already have experience but would like to brush up on their techniques. You are welcome to bring your own hammers and materials if you wish.
