No kiln needed! In this workshop, I’ll share with you my years of experience with this NEW method of using air-dry clay. After being a potter for over 25 years, these new materials look like clay, feel like clay – but NO KILN NEEDED! You’ll create ceramic-like tiles to add to your mosaics and create unique pieces in just two days! We will use mica powders and acrylics to achieve these ceramic-like tiles. Join me for a no-stress-fun workshop!
Carol Shelkin is a visual artist and art teacher who also creates Contemporary Fine Art Mosaics. Her original work with hand cut stained glass is intricate and revealing with attention to detail that distinguishes her among other artists. She’s created a style that is defined as: Painting with Glass. She continued to pursue her passion for art through her life, studying painting at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and mosaic art in Ravenna, Italy. Her eclectic approach to surface design placing glass, where a painter would actually place paint found the perfect marriage of her two loves. She is founder of Mosaic Art Worldwide Retreats, Workshops, and Tours, Master Artisan with Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, and an active member of the Society of American Mosaic Artist. Carol teaches ongoing mosaic art workshops in Philadelphia, offered weekend and weeklong workshops worldwide and an instructor on Mosaic Arts Online.
