Designed for both beginners and experienced mosaic artists, this intensive session is packed with valuable tips and tricks, leveraging specialty tools and materials to ensure a “Mighty” learning experience. You’ll gain a wealth of knowledge, from mastering smalti and filati to create captivating dimension, to expertly shaping smalti using nippers, hammer and hardie, and a grinder. Plus, you’ll discover the magic of Laticrete Platinum 254 thinset, a true game-changer for mosaic artists.
This hands-on workshop kicks off with an exploration of materials and tools, followed by the exciting planning stages of your flower mosaic. With a diverse array of gorgeous supplies and personalized guidance from the instructor, you’ll design and execute your unique piece with confidence. A live demonstration of hammer and hardie techniques, focusing on smalti A and B cuts, will offer a rare opportunity to experiment with various tools. In 2005, Karen Sasine discovered a passion for mosaics after attending her first SAMA Conference. What followed was an explosion of creativity and 20 years of mastering her style through ongoing training by International and American Masters. She has been mentoring through her online group, Mosaic Mentoring which has worldwide following of 48k people. Additionally, she teaches mosaics weekly as well as traveling and passing her skills along through her Small and Mighty and Dimensional workshops.
