Meet James Simon, today’s Featured Member. James writes: James Simon has been creating sculpture and mosaics for over twenty years, and his work can be found worldwide. Educated in the early 80s in a private Apprenticeship in Oxford England, Simon is known for his dramatic large scale works (such as the Liberty Avenue Musicians In Downtown Pittsburgh and his 120’ mosaic in Bradenton, Florida) His work speak to a diverse population and range from small desktop pieces to large public art commissions.
Simon often creates his own ceramic tile as well as incorporating relief sculpture into the compositions.
James Simon’s dynamic and fun sculptures continue to evolve, create, and define unique spaces, city gateways, plazas, parks, and architectural facades.
“What grounds my work is the belief that art is a celebratory experience that can educate and inspire. The heart of my work is to give. To give to a community, to pay homage to its history, while representing its contemporary life, to create a magical environment.”
