Candice writes: I am inspired by elements of nature like the movement of ocean waves, the delicate wings of a butterfly, intricate textures of leaves and fragments of seashells, as well as various materials, especially natural stone, slate, stained glass and smalti. Given the beauty and strength of the materials and their ability to convey movement and emotion, mosaic is the perfect medium for me to express my thoughts and feelings that I am passionate about, drawing from my own personal life and the world around me.
In addition to my studio time, I am pursuing opportunities to lead community mosaic mural projects that promote healing and reconciliation.
