Susan Jeffreys writes: I’m not showing the work in situ because they are not all mounted yet. My “gallery wall” is still a work in progress. All of these pieces were purchased from SAMA members over the course of 20 years. We bought our first mosaic, “One Foot” [Luci Lytle] after the first SAMA conference in Columbia, SC, (2001?). I was delighted to see a mosaic using a material I had never before considered. Aside from my own attempts, it was the only mosaic we owned at the time. This is part of our larger collection and includes my current favorites, except for “Knitting Your Life” [Aida Valencia] which is a sculpture and impossible to do justice to without better lighting than I can give it. Only one of them is a commission – “Susan Morphosis” [George Fishman]. You have to look at it from the side to see how the image coalesces into my (much younger) face. The rest we purchased either from the Mosaic Arts International exhibitions or the SAMA Mosaic Arts Salon over the years. Please enjoy!
