Julie writes: I have been involved with mosaic since childhood. My mother made mosaics in the 1950’s and I was always fascinated by it. In college, I majored in fine art photography where I cut up my photos and pieced them back together, which lead me back to mosaics. Not only making them but collecting other people’s work. Many of the mosaics I received from trading art, others I have purchased at the SAMA salon and the MAI Invitational. I have an emotional attachment to the mosaics I have collected, they sing to me, with the beautiful notes provided by the artist.
